• Many people have their cell phones at their ear and don’t pay attention to what’s going on around them. Don’t have your cell phone earphones plugged into your ears, so that you can hear and be aware of what’s going on around you.

Safety in Parking Lots

• Never park in dark isolated areas. Rather, in areas that are well-lit and have some populous of other vehicles.
• Take a note (mental or otherwise) of where you parked your vehicle.
• Leave your valuables in your trunk.
• Be sure to have your keys at the ready when returning to your vehicle.
• When returning, be sure to avoid the shadows and walk in the light.
